Wide and Tall

This Wide This Tall

This makes me want to get a dog. But of course, they never stay this tiny, do they?

Boardwalk Empire - The Subway Edition

Boardwalk Empire Subway Ad

I’m not a big fan of the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. I tried watching a few episodes when it debuted earlier this year, but I just couldn’t get into it.
But I can get into this advertising campaign. I heard about it a few days ago, and now Laughing Squid has a few photos. I’d love to see this in person. Too bad it won’t be around for long. But if you are in NYC, you should stop by and see — but only on the weekends.

More photos can be found on Laughing Squid’s blog post.

My Next iPhone Case

80's Cell Phone Case

I really need to update my iPhone. It’s on its last legs. The volume button is broken off. The power button doesn’t work. And it started to split in two at the seams! Hopefully, there will be a new iPhone soon.

I’ve been scouting for iPhone cases and came across this. It would be interesting to carry around, wouldn’t it?

Irene

Hurricane Irene: MTA Metro-North Railroad closed Grand Central Terminal as the hurricane approached. Photo by Metropolitan Transportation Authority / Marjorie Anders.

This is a photo of Grand Central Terminal in New York City. Mid-day. Nearly empty. It’s one of those photos you wish you could capture yourself, but probably won’t ever be able to do so. It was taken by the MTA and posted on Flickr. The reason why it’s nearly empty is due to Hurricane Irene.

Grand Central Terminal is a sight I’d like to revisit again. The place is huge. And when it’s filled with people it feels amazing.
Oh, and they’re going to have an Apple Store there someday soon.

Which iPad 2 is for You?

Thinking of getting an iPad 2? You should read Marco Arment’s write-up on which version you should consider. If I were to do it all over again, I’d probably get a 3G version. But then again, you now know I’m not considering an iPad 2.

New Photos - Hoping More to Follow

Mia and Kaleb Mia and Kaleb

I have a ton of photos that want to get out of Aperture and published on the site. Unfortunately, my time is not cooperating. I posted a few photos from “An Afternoon with Family”. Hopefully, this will start a flood of new photos posted to the site. I’m optimistic that it will.

Mia and Kaleb

Two videos of the kids playing together, and later hugging. Awwww!

Volkswagen Commercial: The Force - Video

Currently, my favorite commercial, even though I’ve yet to see it on television. I just love the kid’s reaction in the end. I can imagine Mia having a similar reaction.

Darth Vader and Samsung

I’m not sure what this is supposed to mean. Is Darth Vader everywhere?

Minimalism Heroes

Catchy tune, and the paper animation is great. Found via Daring Fireball

Samsung Galaxy Tab Teaser

I always smile at these iPhone / iPad killers. I wish they’d come out first before people (e.g. people in blog comments) declare victory over the iPhone/iPad. What we don’t know are important things like price, battery life, how it actually looks and feels, etc. I’m guessing by the time the Samsung Galaxy Tab is released, the new iPad will be out. More (or less) info is available at Engadget.

Verizon to Put Live TV on the iPad

Interesting idea. I’ve actually watched a whole movie and a few tv shows on the iPad. To me, it was just a step up from watching on a laptop.

Daryl Lang:

Look at the photos. This neighborhood is not hallowed. The people who live and work here are not obsessed with 9/11. The blocks around Ground Zero are like every other hard-working neighborhood in New York, where Muslims are just another thread of the city fabric.

I’m not sure how everyone who reads this blog feels about this subject. I’m adding this link I stumbled across as “food for thought.” Make up your own mind about how you feel about this subject.
