Samsung Galaxy Tab Teaser
I always smile at these iPhone / iPad killers. I wish they’d come out first before people (e.g. people in blog comments) declare victory over the iPhone/iPad. What we don’t know are important things like price, battery life, how it actually looks and feels, etc. I’m guessing by the time the Samsung Galaxy Tab is released the new iPad will be out. More (or less) info is available at Engadget.

Sin City-esque
Eminem and Rihanna
This song has been stuck in my head for the last few days. Decent video with Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan.
Project Runway Season 8
Starts tonight and is now 90 minutes long. This is one of the few reality shows I enjoy watching with Farrah. The other - is Top Chef. Also, I’m happy DirecTV finally offers Lifetime HD. Now only if they’d offer BBC America in HD.
NASA
I don’t understand what is said about this clip, but it looks incredible.
Repeated activation of a filament in what looks like a decayed, dispersed small active region. One of the activations is associated with a flare, with post-eruption arcade. The corona SE of the region appears to dim and/or change thermal structure for a considerable time after the eruption. Credit: NASA SDO / Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company AIA

These little fans cost a bit, so reproducing this trick would get very expensive. But they do look like cool fans. (found via Unplggd)
Mia's Birth Day Video
Two video clips from Mia’s birth day. I didn’t take photo or video of the actual birth, but these videos are within hours if not minutes afterwards.
The first clip was shot by myself. Fina was able to capture the second clip of Mia being bathed.
Imogen Heap @ The Mountain Winery, Saratoga
The last time we saw Imogen Heap perform was at the Warfield. She was ill during that show, battling a cold. But the effects of the cold didn’t hamper her performance. She sounded great that evening. During this Friday’s concert at the Mountain Winery, Imogen didn’t need to battle being ill, but rather she fought the cold windy night. She was able to deliver another solid performance.
We haven’t been to a concert at the Mountain Winery since the remodel. Prior to the remodel, we saw two concerts and a attended a wedding there. It’s a great venue with beatuiful views. The drive up can be harrowing for some, as the roads and can get narrow and windy. The remodel helps to define the concert area, which if I recall, was previously one-level plus a bleacher or two. Now the venue has tiered seating which provides a great view of the stage from almost any seat. Parking is the standard steep price of $20.
We caught the last few songs by one of the opening acts, Geese. Interesting act, but not our cup of tea. They would later support Imogen during her performance.
Imogen came out swinging this tube-like object for the song “The Walk”.
The setlist included (not in order):
- The Walk
- Swoon
- Come Here Boy
- Wait It Out
- First Train Home
- Little Bird
- Canvas
- A-Ha!
- Breathe In
- Earth
- Improv
- Bad Body Double
- Speeding Cars
- Let Go
- Just for Now
- Goodnight and Go
- Headlock
- Tidal
- The Moment I Said It
- Hide and Seek
Imogen did something interesting with one of her songs, Earth. She has a contest in which the winner would come on stage to perform the song with her. The winner for Saratoga is shown below in this YouTube clip:
iPhone 4 Delayed
I’m a bit glad that we are skipping this year’s iPhone upgrade. Though the retnia display, camera with flash, and even faster processor would be a welcome update, I’m still not sold on the other features. FaceTime is not a big selling point, yet. I’m sure as our iPhones get a year older - next year - the new iPhone will be more appealing. Hopefully, next year there won’t be a delay in getting a new iPhone.
Dungeons & Dragons Anew
It looks as if Dungeons & Dragons is making a play to be relevant in the age of video online gaming. I have fond memories of playing D&D on Friday nights in my junior high and high school years. I’m not sure I care to revisit them again.
Nike World Cup Video
The World Cup is inspiring some pretty interesting advertising. This is a long version of a Nike commercial.
The time has come for players to carve their name in history. One touch, tackle or free kick could crush a nation's hopes or cause them to build a statue in your honour. Drogba, Rooney and Ronaldo are ready to Write The Future.
