beware of strange atms
general warning brought to you by tage down south. [this tricky modified atm] is geared to grab your card info, pin, and later on your money from your account. if the atm you are using doesn’t seem right it probably isn’t. be cautious.
moblogs?
never heard of it before, but i guess moblogs are the next big thing [cnet article] a moblog is a mobile blog (i guess) in which you can post pictures taken by your mobile phone. then you share the pics and comment as you like in a blog.
might want to check out [textamerica] for an example.
cool site - jerry and supes
watch [uniform] a short film with jerry seinfeld and superman. the film requires macromedia’s flash.
i’m a batman person myself, but this little bit is slightly funny.
cool site - can you pass the third grade?
[can you pass the third grade] is a flash drag and drop game. on my first try i got 21/48 so let’s just say i didn’t. what can you get? link provided by sa
silly site of the day
[let this one play] for about a minute to get the full effect. link courtesy of bigfil
shake it like a polaroid picture
[cool clip of the moment] - it requires flash so you may be prompted to install if you don’t have it already. it’s a play on the current outkast hit ‘hey ya!’. pump up the volume for this version. thanks to bigfil for the link.
cool site - common sense media guide
[common sense media guide] - another site i heard on a radio talk show. i think it was on the ron owens show on kgo radio. ron owens likes to talk about movies, music and such on fridays and this was one of the sites that was mentioned.
the reviews seem to be geared toward those wondering about content of cds, movies, etc. which comes in handy when dealing with what children can see. i use it as a reference when buying stuff for a kid. easy to read ratings chart allows for quick glances of reviews.
cool site - sing365.com
[sing365.com] - i always go to this site when i want to know the lyrics to song. lately they have gotten much better in organizing the site. there are decent biographies of artist, a list of albums and then the lyrics. checked it out next time you want to know the words to a song.
WARNING - this site has a lot of pop-ups! before visiting, you should either be using netscape, mozilla or opera with pop-up windows disabled, or if you are using internet explorer install the google toolbar which allows you to block pop-ups on selected sites (you should have these tools already though, right?)
standing in line
[watch this clip] and think about how long would you stand in line for something.
Update: The original user’s dot mac address is no longer valid. But I found a copy of the video on YouTube!

cool site
[earthware biodegradables] - another site i heard about on kcbs radio (740 on your am dial) during their eco-talk minute segments.
this company makes biodegradable silverware to be used instead of that plasticware we use for parties. it sounds pretty cool. i don’t know how expensive it may be though.
cool site - or maybe not
like everyone else i get sites sent to me from friends and family. i also get website addresses from the radio, newspaper and magazine. i usually record a site to visit on my phone to visit later. well, to the right is a short list of what has been on my phone. i’m going to go visit some of those sites, write a little blurb as to why i had it recorded and why you might want to visit it. it’s sort of like netscape’s old cool site of the day - a feature they had long ago when netscape was cool.
first site up:
[recycle for breast cancer] - i heard about this website on kcbs one day when i was driving to work. the person was asking how and where they could donate old cellphones. one place i have heard of is battered women’s shelter’s who use the phones for communication. antother is this website.
you can go to the website and see the list of cellphones they accept. they will send you a mailer to mail the phone to them. it’s as simple as that. if you have an old cellphone lying around think about donating it.
keeping up with the flu
the cdc has put up the above resource to keep track of this year’s flu outbreak.
